Product Categories Subject to Vietnam CR Mark Certification
Technical Compliance Standards
Products must be tested in designated or recognized laboratories in accordance with Vietnamese National Technical Regulations (QCVNs), including but not limited to:
QCVN 4:2009/BKHCN + A1:2016 – Safety for household electrical appliances and cables
QCVN 9:2012/BKHCN + A1:2018 – EMC for household electrical appliances
QCVN 19:2019/BKHCN – Safety and EMC for LED lighting products
These QCVNs are largely harmonized with international IEC/ISO standards.
Certification Process Overview
- Sample Testing
Submit product samples for safety and EMC testing at an approved lab. - Market Surveillance Compliance
Authorities may inspect or test market-available products at any time. Ongoing compliance is required. - Factory Audit (if applicable)
For certain product types, a site inspection is required to assess your manufacturing process and quality system. - Certification Issuance & CR Mark Registration
Upon successful compliance, your product will be registered with MOST and authorized to carry the CR mark. - Renewal
Certification is valid for 3 years and must be renewed prior to expiration. Any product changes must be disclosed.
